About Us

Hi, I am Christine Teow Gek Kee and my hubby is Eddie Koay.

Both of us are in our sixities. I had worked for the Ministry of Health and private colleges as a nurse and nurse educator for more than four decades. Eddie was formerly attached to the Royal Malaysian Air Force before he went on to join a corporate company.

We have two children and one beautiful granddaughter. My daughter resides in Canada while my son is in Malaysia.

Sunnyview Residence is our new retirement  home. As our double-storey, five-roomed house is too big for just the both of us, we have decided to share this splendid house with other elderly folks. The house is furnished with antique furnitures and ceramic decorations.

Following  the rules and regulations of local authorites, we have added extra features, such as an emergency stairway, exit signs, fire extinguishers, and LED lights.

The rooms have air-condition units as well as fans. Hospital-type beds, which have side rails and are able to be cranked up, will be used for immobile residents.

It is our aim that residents enjoy quality life. Thus, they will be taken care of by professional nurses and be served six home-cooked nutritious and halal meals per day.

When a resident wishes to check in for a stay, whether long or short, s/he will be assessed to determine his/her physical, mental, psychosocial, spiritual, and medical needs. Following assessment, a planned nursing care will be designed and the care will be implemented accordingly. Evaluation of care and reassessment will be carried out weekly or more often if required.

Residents  who require medical attention will be taken by family members to respective doctors. However, in case of emergency, a general practitioner will be called to attend to the resident immediately.

To ensure that residents remain physically active and continue to have  positive thinking, residents are encouraged to participate in planned activites. Some of the activities  are  group therapy, exercises, arts and craft, board games, congkak, darts, card games, and even mahjong . Mobile as well as wheel-chair bound residents are encouraged to go to the park nearby.

Immobile residents will not be neglected. They will be given tender, loving care accordingly. To quote Mother Theresa, "Love begins at home and it is not how much we do but how much love we put into action."
